The top five teams from six regional sites have advanced to the May 19-24 NCAA Division I Golf Championships in Scottsdale, Arizona. Pepperdine fired a 6-under 282 Wednesday to climb three spots into a first-place tie with SMU at 9-over 873 on the NCAA San Antonio Regional team leaderboard. Sixteen shots separated the top five teams on the par-72, 6,342-yard TPC San Antonio Oaks Course, with Oklahoma State and Texas A&M finishing tied for third at 16-over 880 and New Mexico advancing two positions into fifth at 25-over 889.

Alessia Mengoni posted ULM's lowest individual score for the third time this season after carding a 2-over-par 74 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 6-over 222, finishing in a five-way tie for 20th place. It marked Mengoni's fifth Top 20 performance in 2022-23. She posted identical scorers of 1-over 37 on the back and front nines, producing two birdies (14th and first holes) and 12 pars. Her three-round totals featured six birdies and a team-leading 38 pars.

"What a week for our team," ULM women's golf coach Rachel Pollock said. "Alessia finishing in the Top 20 at an NCAA Regional is absolutely incredible for our program, and we're so excited that she's coming back next year. The experience this week was so valuable.

"You look at today's round and you see how we were able to put some scores together. Obviously, we're down one of our star freshmen (Anna Andrysova), but everyone else in the lineup really stepped up today and put a solid number on the board. When you look at the final scores and who we're trailing (in the standings), we're not that far off from No. 31 UCLA, and we notched our first win against a Power 5 team, in Illinois. Obviously, we competed hard and tried to catch Sam Houston, but I'm so proud of the effort and attitude that these girls had throughout the regional.

"I think this is just the beginning for ULM golf, and we're excited to see where the journey takes us next."

Chantal Dueringer finished two shots back in a five-way tie for 25th at 8-over 224. She delivered her only birdie in the round at No. 18 and managed 11 pars, including five straight during one stretch on the front nine. Her 54-hole totals included six birdies and 34 pars.

The 2022-23 season was defined by a series of firsts in program history as well as consistent, record-breaking performances on the golf course.
