Women's Golf
Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational: Final Results

MONROE, La. – Despite light rain and temperatures in the upper-50s on Tuesday, Sept. 26, the ULM women's golf team shot a combined score of even-par 284 – its lowest round of the tournament – to finish in sixth place at 20-over 872 at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational. It marked ULM's 16th consecutive Top 10 finish in regular-season tournaments, dating back to March 2022.

"I'm really proud of how the girls came back and fought today," third-year ULM head coach Rachel Pollock said. "We didn't have our best stuff yesterday, but we came back strong today and jumped up two places on the team leaderboard. Shooting even par as a team in some rainy, cold conditions shows how tough they are and how they won't ever quit.

"We have some things to work on, but we're going to continue to build off another solid week."

UC Davis fired a 6-under 278 en route to winning the team championship by 15 strokes, finishing atop the leaderboard at 7-under 845, followed by San Francisco at 8-over 860 and Seattle and tournament-host Gonzaga, which tied for third place at 13-over 865. Gonzaga's Grace Lee (62-69-69) claimed individual medalist honors, shooting a tournament-record low of 13-under 200.

ULM's top three golfers finished inside the Top 20 in the individual standings and were separated by a total of two shots. As a team, the Warhawks recorded 33 birdies and 172 pars – the third-highest total in the 13-team field.

Sophomore Johanna Sjursen (67-76-72) was ULM's top finisher in the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational, tying for 13th place with a career-low score of 215 (2-over) for 54 holes. It marked her 10th career Top 20 performance. After posting a 5-over 76 in the second round, Sjursen answered with a 1-over 72 on Tuesday. She recorded eight pars en route to a 1-over 36 on the front nine and followed with an even-par 36 on the back nine with two birdies (13th and 17th holes) and five pars. Her 54-hole totals featured a team-leading nine birdies and 35 pars.

"Johanna fought through some adversity the last two rounds and scored well for us today to finish just outside the Top 10 on the leaderboard," Pollock said. "I'm really happy for her to have another great finish to start off the year."

Classmate Anna Andrysova finished one stroke behind Sjursen, tying for 16th place at 3-over 216. Andrysova recorded her third-straight 1-over 72 in the final round, posting a 1-over 36 on the front nine with a pair of birdies (third and eighth holes) and four pars, and followed with an even-par 36 on the back nine with seven pars and a birdie at No. 18. Her tournament totals included seven birdies and team-leading 37 pars.

"Anna played very consistent this week," Pollock said. "She is such a steady player and someone who we can always count on."

For the second consecutive round, Daniela Campillo was ULM's biggest mover on the leaderboard, soaring 15 more spots into a tie for 19th place at 4-over 217. Campillo trimmed six strokes off her second-round score, finishing with a 4-under 67 on Tuesday. She produced a 2-under 33 on the front nine and a 2-under 34 on the back nine. Her third-round scorecard featured four birdies (fourth, ninth, 11th and 15th holes) and 14 pars. Campillo's third-round 67 matched her opening-round score in the 67 in the USA Intercollegiate. Her 54-hole totals included nine birdies (matched Sjursen's tournament total) and 34 pars.

"Daniela's round today was very, very impressive," Pollock said. "Going bogey free is tough, but to do it in some tough conditions is just a testament of how great of a player she is."

Charley Jacobs advanced five places on the leaderboard into a tie for 43rd after shooting a 2-over 73 in the third round to finish at 13-over 226. Jacobs carded a 2-over 37 on the front nine with a birdie at No. 7 to go along with five pars and followed with an even-par 36 on the back nine, including a birdie at No. 13 and seven pars. Her tournament totals included two birdies and 37 pars, which equaled Andrysova's team-leading mark.

Alessia Mengoni finished in a three-way tie for 51st place at 16-over 229 after posting a 5-over 76 in the final round. Mengoni managed a 3-over 38 on the front nine and a 2-over 38 on the back nine, with a birdie at the 16th hole to go along with 13 pars. Her 54-hole totals included six birdies and 29 pars.
