Sjursen Turns in Career-Low 54-Hole Score at Illini Invitational at Medinah

MEDINAH, Ill. -- Junior Johanna Sjursen finished with a 54-hole career-low score as the ULM women's golf team continued its fall season and wrapped up play at the 2024 Illini Invitational at Medinah Tournament, held at Medinah Country Club from Monday (Oct. 7) through Tuesday (Oct. 8).

Sjursen posted a score of 70 (-2) in her first round on Monday before finishing the day with a strong score of 68 (-4) in her second round of the tournament. The Goteborg, Sweden, native tied for 17th overall with a tournament score of 212 (-4).

The Warhawks finished tied for 12th overall with Pepperdine, posting a cumulative score of 876 (+12) following three rounds of 292-285-299. Ole Miss placed first at -30 with Houston coming in second at -27 and Auburn taking third overall after a final round of -18.

Auburn's Anna Davis earned medalist honors with a score of -13 while Georgia's Morgan Smith claimed runner-up honors at -10. Four golfers shared third place at -9.

In her second collegiate tournament, Isabel Mas Pitarch finished at even par through her three rounds and scored a 70 (-2) and a 72 (E) in her last two rounds of the event. Her second round score of (-2) was a collegiate low for Mas Pitarch.

Rounding out the scoring for ULM was Daniela Campillo (225, +9), Anna Andrysova (226, +10) and Tessa Ion (236, +20).

ULM will be back on the course at the Lady Red Wolves Classic from Oct. 14-15 in Jonesboro, Ark.
