MONROE, La. – Calvin Natt will have his jersey retired and hanging in the rafters at b1Bank Fant Coliseum on January 23, ULM Athletics announced on Tuesday (Nov. 3). The athletic department, in tandem with the Alumni Association/L Club, will recognize Natt and his impact on ULM Men's Basketball on January 23, when the team faces Louisiana Tech in Monroe.
Calvin Natt played at then-NLU from 1975 to 1979, a two-time All-American and three-time Louisiana Player of the Year. By the end of his career, he was not only the all-time leading scorer in program history–and remains as such to this day–but he was also the eighth all-time leading scorer in the NCAA with 2,581 points. Natt is also the all-time ULM leading rebounder with 1,285 in his four seasons.
Natt was selected as the 8th overall pick of 1979 NBA Draft, playing 11 years in the NBA. In 1980, he was recognized on the NBA All-Rookie First Team, improving to an NBA All-Star by 1985 with the Denver Nuggets. Natt retired from the NBA with 10,291 career points and 4,070 rebounds.
He was inducted into the ULM Hall of Fame in 1985 and the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame in 1993.
About Calvin Natt:

"Calvin Natt is one of the greatest players in this program's illustrious history. This is a well-deserved honor."
Kenny Natt, Brother of Calvin Natt and NLU Basketball Alumni (1976-80)
"I'm genuinely overjoyed and elated to express my heartfelt congratulations to both Calvin and his family, who have finally been awarded this most prestigious, long-awaited and deserving honor. I thank you Calvin for being a most worthy mentor and leader who set the bar extremely high for inspiring both me and all his teammates to strive to achieve at higher levels. Calvin's unprecedented accomplishments, including his records setting achievements, will forever leave indelible marks within the NLU-ULM basketball history books. As your brother, and on behalf of our entire Natt Family…we salute you, Calvin."
Keith Richard, Former ULM Men's Basketball Player (1978-82) and Head Coach (2010-25)
"In 1978, I was a freshman when Calvin was a senior. I didn't get to play very much that year but had the best seat in the house watching the greatest player in our program history play. In my four years as a player here and forty years as a college coach, you were by far the best I have ever been associated with. Congratulations Calvin, the coliseum is now whole with your jersey retirement."
SJ Tuohy, ULM Director of Athletics
"As someone who grew up with a father playing basketball in the state of Louisiana at a similar time to Calvin, the first thing I noticed walking into our venue last year when I took this job is that his jersey was not in the rafters. I am excited, with the L-Club's recommendation, the previous season will be the last time that is the case. Getting to know Kenny in my short time here, it is so clear how much the whole Natt family means to their Bastrop community, Monroe, and all of NELA."
