Women’s Leadership Through Sports Panel Set for Wednesday Morning

The panel will be held at 9 a.m. in the Terrace on ULM’s campus.

MONROE, La. – In celebration of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, ULM Athletics and Women Take FLIGHT will be hosting a panel on Women's Leadership Through Sports on Wednesday, February 4. The panel features current and former women athletes who share how their time in sport has influenced their growth as leaders.
 
Confirmed speakers include Sonya Weerasinghe, current ULM women's golf student-athlete and President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and ULM Softball head coach Molly Fichtner, along with other guests. The panel will be moderated by Carmen Wright, Director of Student-Athlete Success/Senior Women's Administrator and a former softball player at ULM. 
 
"I am thrilled that Women Take FLIGHT is partnering with Athletics to host this programming," said Leigh N. Hersey, PhD, and organizer for Women Take FLIGHT. "As a professional development program focusing on women, we know the phenomenal leaders we have in Athletics and are glad we can spotlight them in this session."
 
The Women's Leadership Through Sports panel will take place on Wednesday, February 4, in the Terrace, on the 7th Floor of the ULM library.
