CLINTON, Miss. — The ULM cross country teams showed out in the first event of the 2026 season, with the women coming in first and the men coming in second at the Mississippi Christian Opener.
Tuva Sandberg led the women, claiming the individual title with a time of 18:07.4, over 30 seconds ahead of any following competitor.
Maria Nikolaou finished second with a 18:41 time.
Rebekka Flotho and
Maya Nobes finished in the top 10 to give the Warhawks the edge and the team victory.
For the men, it was
Kgaogelo Moloisi who led the team, finishing second with a time of 15:09.3.
Josh Gill also finished in the top 10, contributing to ULM's second place finish out of 11 teams.
The Warhawks will be back in action on September 18, competing in the Southern Showcase, hosted by Jacksonville State.
