2021 (SOPHOMORE-2)
Opened the season at the LSU Purple Tiger (Jan. 16) by earning a pair of Top-10 finishes in the long jump (6.77 meters) and shot put (12.72 meters), finishing sixth and ninth, respectively … competed in his first heptathlon at the Samford Multi-Meet (Jan. 22) … began the day in the 60-meter dash, where he crossed the line in 11th with a mark of 7.52 … from there he took part in the long jump, where he earned 702 points with a leap of 6.52 meters ... had his best finish of the heptathlon, second, in the shot put after a toss of 13.00 meters ... in the fourth event, the high jump, he tied for fourth by clearing 1.80 meters … finished 10th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.68 … in the final event of the heptathlon, the 1000-meter run, he posted a time of 3:07.42 to finish in 12th … completed his first heptathlon in ninth with a 4,304 total points ... emerged with a 12th-place finish in the long jump (21-feet, 8 ¼-inches / 6.61 meters) at the Scarlet & Black Invitational (Jan. 31) … took part in multiple events at the USA Jaguar Invitational (Feb. 7), finishing 13th in the high jump (1.81 meters) and 18th in the long jump (6.50 meters) … closed out the indoor slate by competing in the heptathlon at the Sun Belt Indoor Championship (Feb. 22-23) … was 10th in the 110-meter hurdles after logging a time of 18.46 in the Mississippi State Maroon & White Invitational … had a pair of Top-10 finishes in the javelin event, including a season-best third-place at the Little Rock Invitational (48.19 meters) … enjoyed a sixth-place finish and a trio of seventh-place performances in the long jump during the 2021 outdoor season … competed in the shot put event on four occasions, earning a season-best sixth-place at the Leon Johnson Northwestern State Invitational (April 24) where he reached 12.60 meters … took part in a decathlon at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational (March 26-27) ... completed the 2021 Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 13) by finishing sixth overall with 5,971 total points ... had two Top-5 finishes in the decathlon, placing third in the javelin, following a heave of 161-feet, 2-inches (49.13 meters) and fourth in the 1500-meter run (5:06.15) ... was eight in the 110-meter hurdles, discus and pole vault in the decathlon. 

2020 (SOPHOMORE-1)
Began the slate with an eighth-place performance in the shot put (11.31 meters) at the LSU Purple Tiger (Jan. 10) … capped off the Houston Invitational (Jan. 31) by finishing ninth in the high jump (6-feet, ¾-inches / 1.85 meters) and 21st in the long jump (21-feet, 7 ¼-inches / 6.58 meters) … came through with an eighth-place finish in the shot put (12.76 meters) and a 12th-place finish in the high jump (1.80 meters) in the Samford Invitational (Feb. 15). 

2019 (FRESHMAN)
Competed in five meets over the course of the season … began his Warhawk career in the McNeese Louisiana Challenge (March 9), where he took part in the javelin (156-feet, 8-inches), shot put (36-feet, 10 ½-inches) and long jump (20-feet, ½-feet), resulting in sixth, 12th and 20th-place finishes in the process … took part in four events of the Louisiana Classics (March 15-16), including the javelin (154-feet, 4-inches), where he was 12th …  also competed in the shot out (11.31 meters), long jump (6.29 meters) and 100-meter dash (11.93) in the Louisiana Classics … took part in the decathlon event at the Carl Kight Invitational (April 4-5) … grabbed 11th in the javelin at the Southern Miss Open (April 26) with a heave of 46.38 meters, while placing 13th in the discus (28.92 meters) and 26th in the long jump (6.03 meters) … closed out the season by competing in the decathlon of the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 10-11), finishing sixth in the event with a total of 5,465 points as he was among the Top-10 in nine parts of the decathlon … was 10th in the javelin at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 11), following a heave of 159-feet, 9-inches. 

PREP
Attended Andover Central High School in Wichita, Kansas … a four-year letterwinner in track … ended his freshman season as a state qualifier in the 300 meter hurdles … capped off his sophomore campaign as a regional runner-up and state qualifier in the 300 meter hurdles along with being named as U.S. Track & Field All-American in the 15-16 decathlon, where he finished sixth place … qualified for state championship in 300 meter hurdles, where he placed fifth along with tallying 5,799 points in the decathlon.

Darryl Eugene Givens II … born June 26, 2000 … son of Wanda and Darryl Givens … has two siblings, including brother (Isaiah) and sister (Stephanie) … member of National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society and yearbook photographer … majoring in biology.
