Nate Baker

Nate Baker joined the ULM track and field teams as the throws coach for the 2022-2023 season.

Baker joins the staff from the University of Alabama, where he served as the volunteer assistant throws coach.

Prior to Alabama, Baker spent three seasons as the throws coach at Earlham College in Indiana. In his first two seasons, he took the program from having zero throwers to multiple conference champions in javelin and shot put and an all-region performer in the javelin. In his final season he also served as the Interim Head Coach and coached John Mahaney to his second straight conference title in the javelin.

Before joining Earlham College, Baker spent one season assisting the Track and Field programs at Cloverdale Middle School and High School in Indiana.

Baker is a certified throwing event specialist, strength and conditioning specialist and sprints/hurdles/relays specialist with the United States Track and Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association.

The English, Indiana native competed in football and track and field at DePauw University, where he was a team captain and SAAC representative for track and Field. He graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor’s in Communications. He also received a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Earlham College.
