JUNIOR (2021): Participated in his first heptathlon when he took part in the Samford Multi-Meet (Jan. 22) … began Samford meet in the 60-meter dash, where he streaked down the track in 7.21 seconds to place third … from there they took part in the long jump, where he had a leap of 6.47 meters, placing ninth … placed 12th in the shot put with a heave of 9.93 meters … in the fourth event, the high jump, he finished in a four-way tie for ninth with a mark of 1.77 meters ... finished 15th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 11.04 … in the final event of the heptathlon, the 1000-meter run, he recorded a time of 3:28.35 to place 16th ... completed his first heptathlon in 13th and tallied 4,031 points … took part in both the pole vault (15-feet, 1 ½-inches / 4.61 meters) and the long jump (21-feet, ½-inches / 6.41 meters) at the Scarlet & Black Invitational (Jan. 31), finishing sixth and 17th, respectively … competed in both the long jump (7.09 meters) and 60-meter dash (7.17) events at the USA Jaguar Invitational (Feb. 7) where he was third and 25th, respectively … wrapped up the 2021 indoor slate by competing in the heptathlon of the Sun Belt Indoor Championship … placed fourth overall in the decathlon event of the Texas State Bobcat Invitational (March 26-27), finishing with 5,176 points after finishing inside the Top-3 of six decathlon events … also competed in the long jump, javelin, 100-meter dash and 110-meter hurdle events during the course of the spring slate … part of the 4x100-meter relay unit, which consisted of Jhavonte Perry, Keith Robinson, Brandon Lewis, that claimed first at the Leon Johnson Northwestern State Invitational (41.45) ... competed in the decathlon at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 13), finishing ninth overall with 4.730 points ... best performances in the decathlon came in the 110-meter hurdles, finishing sixth (16.72), and seventh in the pole vault (13-feet, 5.25-inches). 

SOPHOMORE (2020): Opened the season with a pair of Top-5 finishes at the LSU Purple Tiger (Jan. 10), closing out the pole vault event in third (4.70m) and the 60-meter dash fourth (6.94) … made his trek to the Ted Nelson Invitational (Jan. 17) where he claimed fifth in the pole vault (4.76m) and 12th in the long jump (6.79 meters) … wrapped up January at the Houston Invitational (Jan. 31) by placing fifth in the 60-meter dash (6.91) and 37th in his first-ever 200-meter dash (22.57) … saw action in three events at the Samford Invitational (Feb. 15) and claimed third in both the 60-meter dash (6.93) and pole vault (4.55 meters) as well as sixth in the long jump (6.72 meters) … concluded his indoor slate at the Sun Belt Indoor Championship (Feb. 24) where he finished fourth in the pole vault (15-feet, 9-inches / 4.81m) and 20th in the long jump (21-feet, 1 ¼-inches / 6.43 meters). 

FRESHMAN (2019): Competed in eight meets over the course of the season, including his collegiate debut at the LSU Bayou Bengal (Feb. 1), where he took part in the 60-meter dash and placed 12th in a time of 7.074 … leaped to a sixth-place finish in the pole vault event of the Samford Bulldog Open (Feb. 9) after a leap of 13-feet, 11.25-inches … was seventh at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships (Feb. 18), closing with a 15-feet, 10-inch mark in pole vault … began the outdoor slate with a third-place performance in pole vault at the McNeese Louisiana Challenge (March 9) after stretching out for 15-feet, ¼-inch … followed that by placing fourth in the pole vault at the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays (March 22) at a mark of 15-feet, 1-inch … was sixth at the Carl Kight Invitational (April 5) with a mark of 4.73 meters … took part in the 100-meter dash (10.77) at the Southern Miss Open (April 26) … leapt out to a mark of 7.14 meters in the long jump at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 10), finishing sixth … had a ninth-place performance in the pole vault the following afternoon at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 11), posting a mark of 4.63 meters. 

PREP: Attended Ouachiata Christian School in Monroe, La. … a four-year letterwinner in track … capped off his freshman season with a season-best of 54.9 in the 400 meter dash and reaching the state finals in the 4x400 meter relay … took part in 400 meter dash (53 seconds) and pole vault (11-feet, 6-inches) as a sophomore … established season bests as a junior in 400 meter dash (52.3), pole vault (13-feet) and long jump (21-feet, 3-inches) as he established school record in long jump and reaches 4x400 meter relays in state finals … ended his career by taking part in 100 meter dash (10.98), 200 meter dash (22.64), 400 meter dash (51.04) and pole vault (14-feet, 6.5-inches) … reached the state finals in 4x400 meter relay and placed second in state finals pole vault event, setting the school record in the process. 

PERSONAL: Grant Sullivan Girtman … born August 16, 2000 … son of Cindy and Ross Girtman … has one brother (Colton Broker) and one sister (Ashley McGraw) … member of LSK and National Honors Society … majoring in kinesiology.
