JUNIOR (2021): Opened the slate by traveling to LSU Purple Tiger (Jan. 16) where he placed fifth in the 600-meter run after a time of 1:26.77 … emerged with a third-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay at the LSU Purple Tiger, crossing the line in 3:30.30, on a team that consisted of Brandon Lewis, Reid Guirlando and Eric Hawkins … won the 400-meter dash at the Scarlet & Black Invitational (Jan. 31) with a time of 49.12 … finished ninth in the 400-meter dash (49.94) at the USA Jaguar Invitational (Feb. 7) … enjoyed three Top-10 finishes in the 400-meter dash during the course of the outdoor season … was fourth in the 400-meter dash at the Texas State Bobcat Invitational (49.01) … also finished fourth in the Little Rock Invitational (49.94) … best finish in the 200-meter dash was ninth, after posting a time of 22.21 at the Louisiana Classics (March 20) ... closed out the 2021 slate at the 2021 Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 13), finishing 13th in the 400-meter dash (48.60) and 15th in the 200-meter dash (21.86)... member of the 4x400 meter relay unit, which consisted of Brandon Lewis / Reid Guirlando / Nolan Smith / Eric Hawkins, that logged a time of 3:20.2 at the 2021 Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 13). 

SOPHOMORE (2020): Began the season at the LSU Purple Tiger (Jan. 10) where he claimed second in the 400-meter dash (51.85) and 24th in the 60-meter dash (7.24) … headed to the Ted Nelson Invitational (Jan. 17) where he placed 13th in the 400-meter dash (49.95) … took part in two events at the Houston Invitational (Jan. 31), finishing 19th in the 400-meter dash (50.33) and 30th in the 200-meter dash (22.43) … traveled to Birmingham, Ala., to take part in the Samford Invitational (Feb. 14-15) where he placed seventh in the 400-meter dash (49.35) and 12th in the 200-meter dash (22.54) … concluded the Sun Belt Indoor Championship (Feb. 24) with an 11th-place finish in the 400-meter dash (49.74) … capped off the Sun Belt Championship (Feb. 24) with a fifth-place performance in the 4x400 meter relay (3:20.51) alongside teammates Bryce Moore, Eric Hawkins and Zach Kilpatrick.  

FRESHMAN (2019): Competed in 10 meets over the course of the season … ended her collegiate debut at the Ted Nelson Invitational (Jan. 11) in 28th in the 400-meter dash (51.28) … had her best finish of the season in the 400-meter dash (51.88) of the LSU Bayou Bengal (Feb. 1) … closed out the 200-meter dash of the Louisiana Classics (March 15) with a mark of 22.47 (19th) … had a pair of 23rd place outings in the 400-meter dash at both the LSU Alumni Gold (49.88) and Southern Miss Open (50.26) on both April 20 and April 26, respectively … closed out the season at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championship (May 11) with a 16th-place outing in the 400-meter dash (51.12). 

PREP: Attended James Clemens High School in Athens, Ala. … a three-sport athlete who was a member of the football, basketball and track teams … did not compete on the track team his freshman or sophomore seasons … took part in the 60 meter dash (7.17)., 100 meter dash (11.12), 200 meter dash (22.27) and 400 meter dash (49.76) (numbers in parentheses indicate season bests) and captured fifth place in the 400 meter state indoor track meet as a junior … closed out his senior campaign by participating in 60 meter dash (7.18), 100 meter dash (11.07), 200 meter dash (22.00) and 400 meter dash (48.9) (numbers in parentheses indicate season bests) … left as the school’s record holder in the 400 meter dash … senior season was highlighted by a second-place outing in the indoor 400 meter dash. 

PERSONAL: Nolan Isiah Smith … born March 30, 2000 … son of Kawana Smith and Brad Zinn … has one brother (Aric) and one sister (Kayla) … majoring in kinesiology.
