2016 Outdoor: Scored 2,978 points in the heptathlon at the SBC Championships which included a personal-record of 2:31.25 in the 800m that was good for fourth-place… racked up 3,479 points in the heptathlon at the South Alabama Invitational and set personal-records in three of the seven events… recorded a 17.79 in the 100m hurdles, an 8.46m in the shot put and a 5.00m in the long jump at the McNeese Cowboy Relays… fired a 7.59m in the shot put at the Jim Mize Invitational… registered a 28.53 in the 200m, 2:33.88 in the 800m, 4.62m in the long jump and an 18.02m in the javelin at the UL-Lafayette Classics… posted an 18.69 in the 100m hurdles at the Carl Knight Invitational, a 4.80m in the long jump and an 8.16m in the shot put… dashed for a 27.85 in the 200m and a 17.34 in the 100m hurdles at the Jace LaCoste Invite and scored a 4.91m in the long jump and an 8.79m in the shot put

2016 Indoor: Scored 2,641 points in the pentathlon at the SBC Championships… started the season off with a 10.89 in the 60m hurdles and a 4.59m in the long jump at the Texas A&M Invitational… leaped for a mark of 4.85m in the long jump and posted a 10.96 in the 60m hurdles at the KMS Invitational… sprinted for a 10.23 in the 60m hurdles at the South Alabama Invite and recorded a score of 4.83m in the long jump

Prep: Four-year letterwinner at Montgomery HS... earned Academic All-State after placing Top-10 in her graduating class... district champion in the 300m hurdles in 2014... two-time regional finalist in the 4x400m... a part of the champion 4x400m district team in 2014 and won the 300m hurdles on the same day... academic letterman 

Personal: Full name is Payton Olivia Simpson... born Feb. 21, 1997 in Woodlands, Texas... daughter of Scott and Sara Simpson... her father played baseball at Oklahoma State... has a younger brother, Tucker... enjoys painting and crafting... majoring in pre-pharmacy/toxicology
