Cody Sparrow joined ULM Athletics as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Compliance in August of 2024. In his role, Sparrow oversees and monitors NCAA, Sun Belt Conference and institutional rules and regulations for the Warhawks' athletics programs.
Sparrow came to ULM from Idaho State University, where he served for six years as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Academic Services and General Counsel. In that role, he acted as sport administrator for women's volleyball, women's golf, cheer and dance. Prior to that, he was the Assistant Athletic Compliance Officer from 2016 to 2018 and a Graduation Specialist in the Office of the Registrar from 2014 to 2016. He also served as an adjunct instructor in the Sport Science and Physical Education Department beginning in 2015.
From 2012 to 2014, Sparrow worked at Utah Valley University as an Athletic Academic Advisor and Student Serices Coordinator, supporting over 200 student-athletes academically and monitoring their academic progress. He also taught in the Student Leadership and Success Studies Department in the fall of 2013.
Sparrow began his compliance career as an intern at Idaho State in 2010, following a graduate teaching assistantship in the university's sport science program.
A member of the National Association for Athletic Compliance (NAAC), Sparrow is also a certified Title IX investigator through United Educators and ATIXA.
He earned a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management with a minor in Coaching from Idaho State in 2009, a Master's degree in Physical Education (Athletic Administration) in 2011, an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management from Utah Valley in 2014 and an MBA from Idaho State in 2017.
Sparrow lives in Sterlington with his wife, Tessa, and his son, Payton. His daughter, Taylee, is a student at Idaho State.
