Veteran administrator Rob Bernardi was named Deputy Athletics Director at ULM in July 2021.
Bernardi, who comes to Monroe following nearly five years as Senior Associate Athletics Director at Tulane University, will oversee the day-to-day management of ULM Athletics as well as the sports medicine and strength and conditioning programs while serving as sports supervisor for several teams.
No stranger to Louisiana athletics, Bernardi served as the Director of Athletics at Nicholls State University for 15 years from 2001-16 where he helped shape the program with key coaching hires and advances in facilities and external funding. He was selected Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year for the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision in 2014.
Bernardi may be best remembered for bringing the Manning Passing Academy to Thibodaux and the Nicholls campus. MPA recently celebrated its 25th Anniversary, including its 13th year at Nicholls.
His tenure at ULM brings Bernardi back to the Sun Belt Conference where he served as Associate Commissioner from 1992-2001. Prior to joining the Sun Belt staff, he began his career in athletics administration at the University of Arizona.
Rob and Linda Bernardi have two daughters, Nadine and Jenna. They are the grandparents of Emma, Ethan and Elliott Hebert of Thibodaux, Louisiana. His brother Gary also is involved in collegiate athletics, serving as an assistant football coach at San Diego State University.
