OXFORD, Miss.?Jevan Snead threw three
touchdown passes and rushed for two more as Ole Miss became bowl eligible for the
first time since 2003 with a 59-0 victory over ULM Saturday afternoon at
Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
Snead finished the game 6-for-12 for 170
yards with touchdown passes of 3, 22 and 23 yards. He scored on touchdown runs of 1 and 9 yards
as the Rebels finished the game with 350 yards on the ground on 53 carries.
Ole Miss (6-4, 3-3 SEC) wasted no time
putting its mark on the game taking the opening possession 72 yards on nine
plays for a score capped by Cordera Eason's 17-yard touchdown run.
Eason finished the game with 106 yards on 14
carries, while Dexter McCluster ran for 78 yards on seven carries, including a
25-yard touchdown run.
Ole Miss dominated the opening half of play totaling
341 yards of total offense and holding ULM (3-8, 2-4 Sun Belt) to just 63 yards. The Rebels carried a 38-0 lead into the locker
room.
ULM struggled to get any offense rhythm going
in the game tallying just 131 yards, while Ole Miss finished the game with 520
yards of total offense.
Warhawk quarterback Kinsmon Lancaster
completed 5-of-9 pass attempts for 30 yards before leaving the game with an
injury. Frank Goodin led the Warhawk ground attack with 41 yards on 12 carries.
The Warhawks conclude their season next
Saturday in Miami, Fla., against Florida International (4-5, 3-2). Kickoff from FIU Stadium is scheduled for 6
p.m. (CST).
