MONROE, La.?ULM co-offensive
coordinator Nate Kaczor has accepted a position with the NFL's Jacksonville
Jaguars.
Kaczor just completed his second season with the Warhawks
where he coached the tight ends and co-coordinated the offense with
Steve Farmer. Under his guidance, Zeek
Zacharie was a two-time John Mackey National Tight End of the Week and a
two-time Sun Belt All-Conference selection.
“I enjoyed my time at ULM and this was a difficult decision
to make,” Kaczor said. “If it would have
been a college job, the result would have probably been different, but any
chance to go into the NFL is a great opportunity. ULM
is a program on the rise and with the coaches they have in place it will only
continue to get better.”
Kaczor and ULM head coach
Charlie Weatherbie have a long history together dating back to Kaczor's playing
days at Utah State.
In Weatherbie's first season as the head coach of the Aggies, he hired
Kaczor as a graduate assistant coach, where he remained for nine seasons in
different assistant coach capacities.
“This is a bittersweet moment for me,” Weatherbie said. “I'm extremely happy for Coach Kaczor and for
this incredible opportunity he has been given.
He and Coach Farmer have done an excellent job with our offense and I am
sure he will do a fantastic job with the Jaguars.”
Weatherbie will begin the search to replace Kaczor
immediately.
