SHERWOOD, Ark. ? The ULM softball team ran into a duo of gems inside the circle and couldn't get the offense going in a pair of shutout defeats at the hands of Arkansas at the Sherwood Sportsplex in Sherwood, Ark. on Wednesday evening.

The Warhawks tallied only three hits and six total base runners in the two games combined. ULM (10-24) fell 3-0 in the first game before dropping the 6-0 decision in the second game.

In the opener, ULM was no hit and fanned 10 times by Arkansas starter Katy Henry (13-8). The game marked the second time that the Warhawks have been no-hit on the season with the other coming at the hands of Iowa State during the Mardi Gras Classic.

ULM starter Lindsay Rittenhouse (4-10) was equally strong in the circle, fanning seven, but couldn't overcome an unearned run in the opening frame and a solo homer in each the third and sixth innings.

In the Warhawks only scoring opportunity in the opener senior Jamie Liles reached on a fielding error and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by freshman Molly McNeill. Henry would retire the next 15 Warhawks before a seventh-inning walk to senior Calli Baker with one out.

In the second game Arkansas (25-17) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead against the Warhawks game two starter sophomore Kandace Causey (4-9). The Razorbacks added a single run in the second and third frames to extend the lead to 4-0.

Causey exited the game after four innings, two earned runs and nine strikeouts. Arkansas starter Miranda Dixon (9-7) picked up 12 punch outs and only three hits.

Arkansas added two runs in the sixth inning for the final 6-0 score.

The Warhawks return to action on Saturday when they travel Mobile, Ala. to play South Alabama in an important weekend league series. ULM trails the Jaguars for seventh in the league race by a single game and will start the opening day doubleheader at 1 p.m.
