BATON ROUGE, La.?ULM senior Nick Maragas was named
Louisiana Sports Writers Association Baseball Hitter of the Week the
organization announced Tuesday.
Maragas, a senior from Canton, Ohio,
batted .636 (7-for-11) with six RBIs. He finished the week with a 1.182 slugging
percentage and .667 on-base percentage recording a double, a triple and a home
run.
He played catcher and designated hitter for
the Warhawks and came within a home run of the cycle in the second game at South Alabama; he hit a homer in his first at-bat of the
following game.
Maragas was 4-for-4 with 4-RBIs in game two against the Jaguars and went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in the series finale. He opened up the week with a 2-for-4 performance against Northwestern State.
Maragas is the third Warhawk to earn
Louisiana Hitter of Week honors this season.
Jon Prevost received the award on April 8 and Dexter Fontenot was
honored on April 22.
The Warhawks wrap up the home portion of the schedule this weekend hosting Troy in a critical three-game
Sun Belt Conference series. ULM can clinch the Sun
Belt regular season championship with a sweep of the Trojans.
