Around the Horn...ULM Pitcher / Infielder Jordy Poche

A key pitcher and infielder during the Warhawks run to the Sun Belt Conference regular season championship, freshman Jordy Poche posted a 2-0 record on the mound and also hit a home run as he played in 17 total games. Jordy stopped by ULMAthletics.com to answer a few questions about his summer.

Q: What have you been up to so far this summer?
A: Fishing, working out, playing ball

Q: What are your goals for the upcoming season and what are you doing to ensure that you will accomplish them?
A: To earn a starting position on the field.
I am working hard this off season and trying my best to improve everyday.

Q: When you aren't working to accomplish these goals, where can people find you this summer?
A: Mostly just fishing and playing summer ball.

Q: Which of your teammates do you think will really surprise people
next season and why?
A: Kelvin York...He can hit a baseball.

Q: Is there a specific reason you wear the number you wear?

A: Because Kyle Suire had my number 10.

Q: If you could play any other sport what would it be and why?
A: None.

Q: What is the funniest thing that you have heard Coach Shake say during a game?
A: "My Bad."

Q: What are you studying at ULM and how do you intend on using your
major after you graduate?
A: I'm in general studies now, but I am still weighing all of my options to see what I want to do.

Q: If you could give the incoming freshmen one piece of advice, what would it be?
A: Get into shape before we start running.

Q: What is the one thing that you remember most from this past season?
A: Beating Middle Tennessee with a walk-off hit by Dexter Fontenot in the Sun Belt Tournament.
