ULM standout
quarterback Raymond Philyaw leads the Cleveland Gladiators into the Arena Football
League National Conference Divisional Playoffs Monday night against the Georgia
Force in Duluth, Ga.
Philyaw was a four-year letterwinner for the Warhawks from
1993-96 earning a pair of All-Independent honors (1994, 95) and three
All-Louisiana distinctions (1994, 95, 96).
He ranks second all-time in ULM
history with 52 career touchdown passes and third with 7,061 passing yards.
The Shreveport,
La., native posted the second-most
passing yards in AFL playoff history last week throwing for 436 yards in a 69-66 victory
against the Orlando Predators. Fans can catch a replay of the game Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. on ESPN Classic as it was tabbed the AFL Game of the Month.
Cleveland (10-7) enters as the number four
seed while Georgia
(10-6) stands as the number two seed.
The game will be televised on ESPN2 HD Monday night
beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Philyaw entered the season with the highest touchdown to
interception ratio in the history of the AFL averaging 9.03 touchdowns to every
one interception.
This season he has thrown 83 touchdown strikes compared to
just 10 picks and has completed 68.2 percent of his pass attempts.
