BOCA RATON, Fla. - The ULM women's soccer team fell, 4-1, to Florida Atlantic on Friday evening (Oct. 9) in the first game of its two-game road trip. Sophomore midfielder Kelly Browne tallied the lone goal of the contest for the Warhawks.

ULM opened the scoring in the 17th minute as Browne scored her second goal of the season. Junior forward Tiffany Bombard served a ball into the box that slipped past the FAU goalkeeper to a waiting Browne who tucked the ball into the open net. The assist was the first of the season for Bombard.

Just 1:26 after the ULM goal, FAU tied the score on a goal from Meghan Brown off an assist from Jamie Greany. Brown took a shot from the right corner of the box that beat ULM freshman goalkeeper Alex Holland into the lower left corner of the goal.

FAU took its first lead of the contest in the 32nd minute as Greany scored for the Owls with a left-footed shot that slipped through Holland.

The Owls took the 2-1 lead into halftime despite an even opening 45 minute in which both teams recorded nine shots and earned one corner kick.

Following the intermission, the Owls doubled their advantage on a goal by Anhnhi Tran in the 52nd minute. Greany once again setup the goal as she fed Tran who took the shot from 35 yards out, beating a diving Holland to the left post.

Laura Hyvonen added the final goal for FAU in the 58th minute. Greany and Brianna Kelts were credited with assists on the one-timer goal by Hyvonen.

The Owls outshot ULM, 10-5, in the second half to earn a 19-14 edge in the contest. Browne led ULM with two shots. Holland made seven saves in the contest for the Warhawks.

ULM will return to action on Sunday (Oct. 11) as the Warhawks conclude their two-game road trip at Florida International. Game time against the Golden Panthers is slated for 1 p.m.
