his first home run of the season, but his blast into the teeth of a 17
mile-per-hour wind hit off the top of the wall in left field.

lead after the top of the fourth inning ? Brandon Williams hit a solo home run
in the fourth to counter the Warhawks' first run of the game in the bottom of
the third.

making his first start of the season, tied the game with one swing in the
bottom of the fourth with a home run to right field ? Tom O'Gorman led off the
inning reaching on an error and scored on the homer. One out later, Jon Prevost
was hit by a pitch and Blanchard doubled to right-center to give the Warhawks a
4-3 lead.
After Grambling (0-7) answered
with a run in the top of the fifth, ULM took advantage of three Tiger errors
and three hits to push three runs across the plate in the bottom of the frame.
York led off the inning with a
single to left field and later came home to score on a Louie Lancaster single
to right. O'Gorman, who was hit by a pitch, scored on a throwing error by the
Grambling center fielder and Poche drove home the final run of the inning with
a single to left.
The teams traded single runs
in the seventh inning with RBI singles from Adrian Thomas for GSU and Poche for
the Warhawks.
Lavell Lane (0-2) took the
loss for Grambling allowing seven runs ? four earned ? over 4.1 innings of
work. He scattered seven hits and struck out four batters before passing the
ball off to Michael Jones who finished the game.
The teams wrap up the three game series tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Grambling's Tiger Field. The Warhawks will
send freshman right-hander Tony Dischler (0-0, 0.00 ERA) to the mound, while
GSU's starter has not been announced.
