ULM Soccer Plays to a Goalless Draw at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. – Senior goalkeeper Mallory George made four saves as ULM tied Central Arkansas, 0-0, in extremely wet conditions at Farris Field.

Battling difficult weather conditions for the second consecutive match, the Warhawks came out strong in the opening 45 minutes, outshooting the Bears 7-2. ULM (1-4-1) continued to have the better of play in the second stanza, holding a 5-4 edge in shots heading into overtime. Central Arkansas (4-3-1) registered the only two shots of the extra 20 minutes but the Warhawks still held the overall lead in shots, 12-8. Junior forward Tiffany Bombard and senior defender/midfielder Raydan Phillips each recorded a game-high three shot attempts for the Warhawks.

For George, the shutout was her first of the season and the 11th of her ULM career. George's last shutout came on September 8, 2008 in a 3-0 victory at Centenary. Kirby Huffstickler and Kelsey Gochnauer each saw time in goal for Central Arkansas, making three save apiece.

ULM held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks during the contest.

The Warhawks will return home this Friday when they host McNeese State at the ULM Soccer Complex. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
