MONROE,
La. - The ULM soccer team fell 4-0 to South Alabama in Sun Belt Conference play on Sunday afternoon at the
ULM Soccer Complex.
The
Warhawks (2-8-1, 0-2 Sun Belt) lost despite outshooting South Alabama 14-12 in
the match, including an 8-4 advantage in the first half. Both teams attempted
seven shots on goal in the match.
The
Jaguars (3-7-1, 1-1 Sun Belt) grabbed the lead in the 12th minute when Kasey
Crowe scored off a corner kick on an assist from Linsey Snavely.
South
Alabama tallied three goals in the second half to take control of the match.
The Jaguars took a 2-0 advantage in the 52nd minute on a header from Liz Clark
off another corner kick. Kristyn Thacker
scored in the 64th minute on goal in the left corner to give South Alabama a
3-0 lead.
Kayla
Conrad finished off the scoring in the 86th minute on a shot from 40 yards out
over the head of ULM goalkeeper Alex Holland.
Senior
midfielder Amy Porch led the Warhawks with three shots, two that were on goal
in the match. Senior midfielder Samantha Cashman, senior forward Tiffany
Bombard and sophomore forward Adison Adams each took two shots.
Up
next, the Warhawks take their first conference road trip of the season to North
Texas on Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to Denver on Sunday, Oct.
3 at 1 p.m.
