MONROE, La. - ULM scored a late goal, but it was not enough as
Middle Tennessee picked up a 3-1 victory in Sun Belt soccer action Sunday afternoon at
the ULM Soccer Complex.
The Warhawks (5-11-1, 0-8-0 SBC) got a goal from freshman Taylor
Bonetti - her team-leading sixth of the season - in the 89th minute
to cut the score to 3-1. Sophomore Megan Lindholm picked up her first assist of
the season on the play.
Middle Tennessee (9-7-0, 6-2-0 SBC) scored a pair of goals in the first
14 minutes to build a 2-0 advantage at halftime. Regina Thomas broke free past
the ULM defense to net the first goal at the 3:36 mark and Melisa Erturk scored
on a shot from 25 yards out at the 13:43 mark for the Blue Raiders.
ULM came out firing in the second half with three quick shots, before
the Blue Raiders took a 3-0 advantage on Thomas' second goal of the match in
the 72nd minute.
Junior goalkeeper Alex Holland recorded a season-high 11 saves in the
match. ULM finished with eight shots, six that were on goal.
ULM finishes off a three-match homestand against FIU Thursday at 4 p.m.
at the ULM Soccer Complex.
