BOCA RATON, Fla. - The ULM soccer team came up short Sunday in
a 2-1 setback at Florida Atlantic in the Warhawks' final road match of the
season.
Florida Atlantic's Meagan Borger broke a 1-1 tie just after
halftime with a goal in the 47th minute for the game-winner. Lindsey Rice
assisted on the goal, which came off a corner kick.
Sophomore Megan Lindholm notched her second goal of the
season to tie the match at 1-all in the 37th minute. Lindholm stole the ball
from a Florida Atlantic defender and netted the ball in the lower left part of
the goal.
The Warhawks finished the match with eight shots, three that
were on goal. Freshman Taylor Bonetti paced ULM with two shots in the match.
Florida Atlantic (6-10-1, 2-7-1 SBC) struck first in the 21st
minute on a goal from Brittney Nash.
ULM (5-13-1, 0-10-0 SBC) wraps up its season at home against
rival UL-Lafayette Friday (Oct. 28) at 4 p.m. at the ULM Soccer Complex. Head
coach Stacy Lamb and the rest of the Warhawks will honor three seniors who will
play at home for the final time - Emily Lybarger, Stacey Carmack and Maddy
Ocon.
