MONROE, La. – Stephanie Routzon gave up just two hits and no runs in five innings to lead the ULM softball team to an 8-0 run-rule shutout of Centenary Tuesday evening at the ULM Softball Complex. The victory marks the third-straight for the Warhawks and improves them to 15-13 overall, 3-3 SBC on the season.

The two-hit performance is a career-best for Routzon (5-3) while she also tied her career-high in strikeouts with five and allowed just two walks. Katie Girardi led ULM in hitting with a 2-for-2 performance that included two runs, one RBI and her first triple of the season while Brianna Love went 2-for-3 with two runs, one RBI and two doubles. Janel Salanoa had one hit for a team-high two RBI.

The Warhawks scored all eight of their runs in just two innings as Miyuki Navarette was the first to reach home in the third inning off an RBI double by Love down the left field line. Love then stole third and reached home on a throwing error before Girardi scored next on a fielding error. Melissa Rivera and Regina Ayala put together an RBI double and an RBI single to plate two more runs and give ULM a 5-0 lead.

Love and Olguin ripped back-to-back doubles to start the fourth inning and put another run on the board. Elena Dimattia entered to pinch run for Cassel and scored next off Girardi's triple deep to the right field corner before a Salanoa sacrifice fly plated Girardi to eventually end the game with the 8-0 run-rule victory.

Bailey Boggs and Kelsey Regan collected the two lone hits for Centenary (2-16) in identical 1-for-2 performances, Regan's hit resulting in a double. Bonnie Matak also had a stolen base. Lauren Highsmith (2-11) earned the loss in the circle after allowing eight hits, six runs and one walk with one strikeout.

ULM takes the field again tomorrow evening when it hosts Stephen F. Austin at 5 p.m. in the finale of the home-and-away series with the Ladyjacks.
