MONROE,
La. - ULM's Malone Stadium will play host to its first-ever Big 12
Conference school as the Warhawks will host Baylor in 2012, ULM
Athletics Director Bobby Staub announced Wednesday.
The
Warhawks were originally scheduled to travel to Baylor in 2012 and the
Bears were to return the trip in 2013. However, the two schools agreed
to switch the dates to accommodate the new nine-game Big 12 Conference
schedule.
"We
are continuing to make great strides in our non-conference scheduling,"
Staub said. "Along with theTulane series, these are the type of matchups that will create excitement for our student body and our fans. The
opportunity to have a Big 12 school on our campus is significant and we
look forward to hosting Baylor in 2012."
Staub announced Tuesday
that ULM signed a home-and-home contract with Tulane. The Warhawks will
travel to New Orleans in 2012 and the Green Wave will come to Monroe in
2013.
ULM's
2012 non-conference schedule is now complete. The Warhawks will host
Baylor, play Arkansas in Little Rock and travel to Auburn and Tulane.
