MONROE,
La. - The ULM soccer team hosts its annual Maroon & Gold match Saturday at
6 p.m. at the ULM Soccer Complex. The scrimmage marks the end of preseason
training camp for the Warhawks, who began practice Aug. 4.
ULM
returns eight starters and 12 letterwinners from last season, including
sophomore Alyssa Lopez. Lopez is the leading returning scorer after netting two
goals and four points during her freshman season.
The Warhawks also
welcome 10 newcomers, including the top high school player in the state of
Louisiana, Kat Cuntz. Cuntz garnered Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and
Louisiana Division I Player of the Year honors during her senior season at
Saint Mary's Dominican High School.
ULM opens the 2011
season Aug. 19 at Central Arkansas at 3 p.m. The Warhawks' home opener is Aug.
23 against Northwestern State at 4 p.m.
