Men's Basketball

MONORE, La. - ULM head men's basketball coach Keith Richard announced Thursday the Warhawks' 2011-12 non-conference schedule. The 13-game slate features five home games and six games against teams that played in the postseason last year.

"We've put together a very challenging and competitive non-conference schedule for our team," Richard said. "Opening the season with five games in 11 days will be a good test early for us. I am looking forward to watching our players grow and improve this season."

The Warhawks get started Nov. 1 with an exhibition contest against Lubbock Christian, followed by another exhibition Nov. 7 against Philander Smith. ULM travels to Oxford, Miss. Nov. 11 for its season opener against Ole Miss, who finished with a 20-14 record and advanced to the National Invitational Tournament last season.

The Warhawks open the home portion of the schedule against Missouri Valley tournament champion Indiana State on Nov. 14 before hitting the road for contests at Tennessee (Nov. 16), Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 19) and Mississippi State (Nov. 21).

ULM hosts Harding (Nov. 26), travels to Nicholls State (Nov. 28) and returns home to face Louisiana Tech (Dec. 3). Following a road contest at Texas A&M (Dec. 10), the Warhawks host Nicholls State (Dec. 12) and Northwestern State (Dec. 15).

ULM closes out the non-conference schedule with trips to UNLV (Dec. 19) and Indiana State (Dec. 21).

In addition, the Warhawks will play 16 Sun Belt Conference games, including home contests against Western Kentucky (Dec. 29), Arkansas State (31), UALR (Jan. 12), North Texas (Jan. 14), Denver (Jan. 19), UL-Lafayette (Jan. 28), South Alabama (Feb. 11) and Middle Tennessee (Feb. 23).

Game times have yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date. For information regarding tickets for the 2011-12 basketball season, contact the ULM ticket office at 318-342-3ULM.
