Men's Basketball Hosts Rival UL-Lafayette Saturday at 4 p.m.

GAME BASICS
ULM (2-19, 1-7 SBC) returns home to face in-state rival UL-Lafayette (11-11, 5-3 SBC) Saturday at 4 p.m. inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The game will follow the ULM-UL-Lafayette women's game, which is set to tip off at 2 p.m. Doubleheader tickets can be purchased for $5, $10 and $12 by contacting the ULM Ticket Office.

UPDATING THE WARHAWKS
• ULM dropped a 91-63 decision at Troy Saturday in its last outing. The difference in the game came beyond the 3-point line, where Troy outscored ULM 45-18.

• The Warhawks shot 41.3 percent from the field and scored over 60 points for just the third in conference play. ULM is averaging 54.4 points in eight conference games this season.

• A trio of sophomores led the Warhawks against Troy, paced by 14 points and six rebounds from center Steven McClellan. McClellan finished game 7 of 10 from the field as he finished just two points shy of his career high. Six of McClellan's eight career double-digit scoring efforts have come this season. He is averaging 10.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in conference play.

• Fellow sophomore Charles Winborne notched double figures in scoring for the fifth straight game with 11 points Saturday at Troy. Winborne has made at least two 3-pointers in seven straight games and he leads the team in scoring during conference play with 11.6 points per game. Winborne is tied for sixth in the Sun Belt in 3-point percentage (.435) and tied for seventh in 3-point field goals per game (2.0).

• Sophomore guard R.J. McCray had arguably his finest game of the season with eight points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals against Troy. McCray is averaging 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds per game this season.

• Senior guard Fred Brown leads the Warhawks in scoring with 11.8 points per game. Brown has not reached double figures in scoring in three straight games, the longest stretch of his ULM career.

• Freshman guard Trent Mackey ranks ninth in the Sun Belt in 3-point percentage (.421). Mackey is third on the team with 31 3-point makes this season.

• The Warhawks rank ninth in the Sun Belt in field-goal percentage (.403), sixth in 3-point percentage (.349) and seventh in free-throw percentage (.675). ULM also ranks fourth in the conference with 6.2 3-pointers made per game.

OTHER NOTES
• The Warhawks' 76-71 overtime loss to Western Kentucky was their first overtime game since Dec. 31, 2008 at UALR.

• ULM is 1-5 this season in games decided by five points or less, including 1-2 in Sun Belt play.

• ULM shot a season-best 62 percent from the field against Nicholls State (Nov. 28). It was the Warhawks' highest shooting percentage in a game since December of 2009.

• ULM has hung tough with some of the best teams in the country this season. The Warhawks led then No. 25 Mississippi State by two points with 14:13 remaining (Nov. 21) and most recently were tied 43-all at No. 22 Texas A&M with 13:20 to play (Dec. 10). In addition, ULM also had a second-half lead at Tennessee on Nov. 16.

• The Warhawks made at least 10 3-pointers in back-to-back games earlier this season. ULM had 11 3s against Harding (Nov. 26) and followed it up with 12 3s against Nicholls State (Nov. 28).

• The Warhawks are playing the 2011-12 season with just nine active scholarship players and are banned from participating in postseason play due to NCAA APR sanctions.

PREVIEWING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
• UL-Lafayette defeated North Texas 64-62 on Wednesday to move into a tie with the Mean Green for third place in the Sun Belt Western Division. The Ragin' Cajuns also have conference wins over UALR (68-49), FIU (87-81 OT), Western Kentucky (72-70 OT) and Florida Atlantic (67-55). UL-Lafayette averages 69.8 points per game and is shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from 3-point range and 65.0 percent from the free-throw line.

• J.J. Thomas leads three Ragin' Cajuns in double figure scoring with 10.8 points per game. Thomas shoots 45.9 percent (62-of-135) from the field, 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from beyond the arc and 77.6 percent (38-of-49) from the free-throw line. Josh Brown averages 10.4 points and Kadeem Coleby chips in 10.2 points per game for the Ragin' Cajuns.

• Bob Marlin is 25-26 in his second season as the head coach of the Ragin' Cajuns. He has a career record of 250-157 in 14 years as a Division I head coach.

SERIES HISTORY
UL-Lafayette leads the all-time series 41-21. The Ragin' Cajuns won both meetings last season, including a 61-46 victory in Monroe on Feb. 26 in the regular-season finale. The series is tied 14-all in games played in Monroe over the years.

UP NEXT
The Warhawks travel to Jonesboro, Ark., to take on Arkansas State Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. The meeting between the Warhawks and Red Wolves will also be televised by CSS as the Sun Belt's game of the week.
