MIAMI -- FIU
broke open a close game at the break with four goals in the second half en
route to a 5-0 victory over ULM Sunday afternoon at the FIU Soccer Stadium.
Five different players scored for the Panthers (8-5-2), who
moved to 5-1-1 in conference play with the victory. FIU led just 1-0 at
halftime, but got things going with a goal from Nicole DiPerna in the 50th minute to take a two-goal advantage.
A goal by Scarlett
Montoya in the 58th minute gave the Panthers a 3-0 lead, and Chelsea Leiva and Ashleigh Shim added late goals for the final margin.
Junior Taylor
Epperson and freshmen Karlea Fehr
and Melissa Heaton each had one shot
to pace the ULM offense. Senior goalkeeper Alex
Holland finished with 11 saves for the Warhawks, who dropped to 4-12
overall, 1-6 in Sun Belt play.
ULM returns home to face South Alabama on Thursday at 3 p.m.
The Warhawks will close out their home schedule Sunday with senior day against
Troy at 1 p.m.
