LAFAYETTE, La. -- The ULM Warhawks (5-15, 1-10 Sun Belt) were swept by the UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns (15-12, 6-5 Sun Belt) at Earl K. Long Gym. It was ULM's final road contest this season.
The Warhawk attack was led by Zuzana Markova's seven kills and Blanca Ocana's 11 assists. Defensively, Marcela Araya recorded 12 digs to lead the team. Ocana joined Iren Marinova in recording a solo block and four block assists each.
In both the first and second sets, the Ragin' Cajuns were in control for the duration. UL-Lafayette took the first set 25-15 and the second 25-14.
The third set saw ULM take its first lead of the entire match. ULM led 7-6 before the Ragin' Cajuns outscored ULM 19-12 to take the final set 25-19 and earn the 3-0 sweep.
UL-Lafayette's Blair Claypoole recorded a match-high of 10 kills. Mandi Gavin chipped in 27 assists.
ULM returns home for its final three matches of the 2012 campaign beginning with North Texas on Nov. 4. The match starts at 1 p.m. at the ULM Activity Center. Live stats will be available on ULMWarhawks.com.
