MONROE, La.- The
ULM softball team hosted their annual
alumni softball game on Saturday, October 27 in conjunction with Homecoming
Week on the campus. Over 15 alumni attended the event, which also featured a post-game
barbecue. It was the 27th straight year that Head Coach Rosemary Holloway-Hill
has welcomed former softball players back to Bayou.
"It is always great to get our former players on campus
again," said Holloway-Hill, the winningnest coach in Warhawk athletics history.
"They get to see all the changes to campus that have been made while they were
gone and reconnect with their former teammates and friends they met here."
The game featured current Warhawk players against alumni in
a light hearted slow pitch matchup. The alumni team was composed of players from
multiple graduating classes that now live in different parts of the country,
and many brought their families to share in the experience.
"As their coach, I love to see how they have succeeded in
their careers, meet their families and also have them share their experience as
a former Indian/Warhawk with our present team," said Holloway-Hill. "It is
great to see what they are doing- some are coaches, some are businesswomen,
some are grad students. One, Polly Hale, came back to campus for the first time
in years after serving three tours in the military overseas serving our
country. I am very proud of all their accomplishments."
