CLEVELAND -- Postseason honors continue to roll in for the
Warhawks as nine different players were tabbed All-Sun Belt by Phil Steele on
Tuesday afternoon. Brent Leonard
highlighted the group of nine as he earned first team honors.
Below are the nine players that earned all-conference honors from Phil Steele
as well as a quick snapshot of their respective seasons.
Brent Leonard - First Team Selection (Offense), Second Team (Special Teams)
Leonard is the first ULM player to
record 80 or more receptions in a season - his 97 receptions are a career-high
and rank third in the SBC record books... Leonard is just the sixth player in ULM
history to go over the 1,000-yard mark in a single season - he is the first to
accomplish the feat since 2002... Fifth player in program history to tally 10 or
more touchdowns in a season... Leonard leads the conference in receptions per
game and ranks second in receiving yards per game... Nationally he ranks sixth in
receptions per game and 30th in receiving yards per game.
Kolton Browning - Second Team
Selection
Browning ranks second in the SBC in
total offense (297.4 ypg), third in passing (257.3 ypg), and fifth in passing
efficiency (145.2)... Nationally, Browning is 21st in total
offense and 32nd in passing efficiency... His 481 yards of total
offense and 83 total plays in the win over then-No. 8 Arkansas rank as the
highest in the Sun Belt this season... His 42 completions against the
Razorbacks are second-most in the league this year... At WKU, Browning led ULM to
a 43-42 OT win as he threw for 308 yards and four touchdowns... A week later, he
again threw four TDs as ULM defeated South Alabama.
Jonathon Gill - Second Team
Selection
Started all 12 games this season
including against No. 8 Arkansas and helped the Warhawks outgain the Razorbacks
550 to 377 in the 34-31 overtime victory at War Memorial Stadium... Against
Baylor helped the ULM offense outgain the Bears 560 to 549 including 262 yards
rushing... At Tulane, part of ULM offense that gained 553 yards in the 63-10
rout... At MTSU helped offense gain 500 total yards in 31-17 win in the SBC
opener.... Part of line that helped offense rush for 194 yards against FAU...
In 42-16 win over North Texas, part of an offense that gained 518 total yards.
Je'Ron Hamm - Second Team Selection
Tied for second in the SBC with two
touchdowns in one game (North Texas)... Ranks sixth in conference with 71.8
receiving yards per game and eighth with 4.8 receptions per game... Among
national leaders, ranks 59th in receiving yards per game and is
tied for 81st in receptions per game...First career 100-yard game
came at Arkansas State with nine catches for a then-career-high 102 yards...
Second straight 100-yard game came against North Texas with seven grabs for a
career-high 119 yards and two scores (including a career-long 61-yard TD
reception).
Isaiah Newsome - Second Team
Selection
Started all 12 games at safety for
the Warhawks... Totaled 55 tackles (34 solo, 21 asst) with 1.5 TFLs... Also
recorded a team-best four interceptions and had five pass breakups on the year...
Tied for third in the conference in interceptions and is tied for 25th
nationally... Five solo tackles and one interception at MTSU... Interception in
the endzone at MTSU allowed ULM to run out the clock to claim the win... Six
tackles and one interception at WKU... Seven tackles against South Alabama...
Seven tackles and an interception against North Texas... Four tackles and a
fumble recovery returned for six yards at FIU.
R.J. Young - Second Team
Selection
Started all 12 games for the
Warhawks at the middle linebacker position... Tallied 90 tackles (46 solo, 44
asst), 10.5 TFLs, three fumble recoveries and one interception... Tied for ninth
in SBC in both tackles and tackles for loss... Led the Warhawks with a
career-best 14 total tackles against Baylor... Two tackles at Tulane as well as
an interception returned for 55 yards... Eight tackles, one for a loss and one
fumble recovery against UL-Lafayette... Game-high 14 tackles with one for a
loss against North Texas... Tallied 10 tackles and a 36-yard fumble recovery
returned for a touchdown at FIU.
Josh Allen - Third Team
Selection
Started all 12 games this season
including against No. 8 Arkansas and helped the Warhawks outgain the Razorbacks

DaCorris Ford - Third Team
Selection
Started all 12 games at outside
linebacker... Totaled 47 tackles (34 solo, 13 asst) with 10.5 TFLs and three
sacks as well as three interceptions... Finished regular season tied for seventh
in SBC in tackles for loss, tied for sixth in interceptions and tied for 15th in
sacks... Against Arkansas, came up with a huge interception at the end of
regulation to stall an Arkansas drive and send the game into overtime...
Against South Alabama, three tackles and one interception... Six
tackles, one assisted tackle for loss and two QB hurries against
UL-Lafayette... At FIU, six tackles, three for loss including a sack.
Keavon Milton - Third Team
Selection
Talented tight-end that can block and catch passes...
Started against Arkansas and made two catches for 24 yards... Appeared at
Auburn and made one grab for seven yards... One catch against Baylor for four
yards... One catch for 17 yards at Tulane... Season-high four catches for 43
yards at MTSU, including a fourth-down conversion on a pass from punter Justin
Manton... Two catches for 19 yards against South Alabama... Against North Texas
had one grab for a career-long 29 yards.
