MONROE, La. - One year after shattering its previous
watermark for total attendance at Warhawk Field, the ULM baseball team has
again set a new single-season attendance record in 2012.
The Warhawks rank among the top 40 programs nationally in
average and total attendance, according to a report compiled by the Wichita
State University Athletics Media Relations Department.
Through 22 home dates this season, 35,846 fans (1,629
average) have taken in a ULM baseball game, surpassing last season's historic
35,832 that attended the team's 30 home contests. There are four home games remaining on the
2012 schedule at Warhawk Field. ULM
hosts UALR May 4-6 in the final Sun Belt Conference weekend series of the
season before welcoming McNeese State May 15 at 3 p.m.
ULM's attendance mark is second in the Sun Belt Conference,
trailing only UL-Lafayette (No. 29 average, No. 32 total).
The Warhawks have claimed 2012 victories over four other
teams ranked in the top 40. ULM swept a
home-and-home series with Tulane (No. 20 total, No. 23 average), took two of
three games at Tennessee (No. 29 total, No. 32 average) March 9-11, split a
home-and-home series with Southern Mississippi (No. 14 average, No. 16 total)
and downed UL-Lafayette for its first conference win March 18.
