STARKVILLE, Miss. -- The ULM Warhawks completed the Mississippi State Maroon Classic with a 3-1 victory over Jackson State Saturday evening.
The Warhawks (1-2) dropped the first set 25-21 and started the second set down 6-0 to the Tigers (0-3) before finding their stride. , ULM responded and outscored Jackson State 17-5 to climb ahead 17-11. The Warhawks eventually took the set 25-22. ULM carried the momentum and dominated the third set, 25-15 and took the fourth and deciding set 25-18.
Araya also received all-tournament honors.
The Warhawks will remain on the road for an August 28th against Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.
