Texas State won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half.
ULM held Texas State off the scoreboard in the first quarter… It is the second time the Warhawks have held a team scoreless in the first quarter this season (other occurrence: at Oklahoma, Aug. 31, 2013)… The Warhawks held the Bobcats scoreless for the first 30 minutes… It was the first time ULM held an opponent scoreless for an entire half since the 2011 season (at Florida Atlantic; Dec. 3, 2011; both halves [last ULM shutout]).
ULM converted its first fourth down attempt late in the second quarter… It was the first fourth down conversion by a Texas State opponent this season… Entering Saturday's game, Bobcat opponents were 0-of-13 on fourth down.

Centarius Donald finished the game with 14 rushes for 45 yards and one touchdown… The game-winning rushing score for ULM came with just 18 seconds to play in regulation… The TD by Donald was the first rushing score of the season for the junior and fifth career.
Trey Caldwell made his first career start Saturday against Texas State… He finished the game with five tackles… The five tackles were just one shy of his career high (6; at Tulane; Sept. 29, 2012).
Isaiah Newsome recorded his first interception return for a TD in the first quarter to give ULM a 7-0 lead with 6:09 remaining… His 71-yard return for a score was his third interception of the season and 10th career… Newsome's interception for a TD was the first for ULM since Darius Lively returned an interception for six yards against Tulane on Sept. 29, 2012… Newsome's 71-yard interception return is a career long and ranks as the sixth longest return in program history (scoring and non-scoring interceptions)… It was also the first interception returned for a TD against Texas State since Josh Aubrey of Stephen F. Austin accomplished the feat on Sept. 24, 2011.
Isaiah Newsome became just the second player in ULM history to record two interception returns for TDs with a 75-yard interception return to give ULM a 14-0 lead with 11:07 to play in the third quarter… The only other Warhawk to tally two TDs on interceptions in one game was Karlton Washington against Northwestern State on Sept. 25, 1999… His 75-yard interception return replaces his 71-yard return earlier in the game as the sixth-longest interception return (scoring and non-scoring interceptions)… His two interceptions ties a career high (2; at Florida Atlantic; Dec. 3, 2011).
With 146 interception return yards, Isaiah Newsome is the new Sun Belt Conference single game record (prev. record: 101 yards; Darin Davis, Middle Tennessee [vs. Florida Atlantic]; Nov. 27, 2010)… He is also just the second player in Sun Belt history to record two interceptions for TDs in a single game (Tony Lukins, New Mexico State [at Tulsa]; Oct. 6, 2001)… His interception return average of 73.0 yards per return is also a SBC record (prev. high: 50.5 yards per return; Darin Davis, Middle Tennessee [vs. Florida Atlantic]; Nov. 27, 2010).
Justin Manton connected on three PATs and is now 16-of-16 on the season… He has also connected on his last 26 PATs… His last PAT miss came at Arkansas State on Nov. 8, 2012.
