MONROE, La. -- The
S. M. McNaughton Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of
Fame will honor ULM head coach Todd Berry as its recipient of the 2012
Outstanding Coach of the Year award.
Berry will be honored at a banquet held at the East Ridge
Country Club in Shreveport, La., on Thursday, February 28. Tickets for the event are $35 per ticket and

A meet and greet will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner
at 6:45 p.m. The award Berry is
receiving honors a collegiate coach who has shown superior abilities in
coaching and has demonstrated sportsmanship, integrity and character in
coaching intercollegiate athletics and amateur football.
The third-year head coach was named the Sun Belt
Conference Coach of the Year as well as the Coach of the Year by the Louisiana
Sports Writer's Association after guiding the Warhawks to an FBS-era best eight
wins.
The squad made its bowl debut in the 2012 AdvoCare V100
Independence Bowl in Shreveport against Ohio on December 28, 2012.
The Warhawks also posted an FBS-era best five-game win
streak from September 29 - October 27 as they improved to 6-2 overall and 4-0
in league play. During the stretch, ULM
defeated Tulane (away), Middle Tennessee (away), Florida Atlantic (home),
Western Kentucky (away) and South Alabama (home).
ULM's season was also highlighted by an upset win in
overtime over then-No. 8 Arkansas on September 8th in Little Rock. The Warhawks were named the Tostitos Fiesta
Bowl National Team of the Week on September 10th.
