Box Score MONROE, La. -- ULM (3-0) women's tennis cruised past Jackson State (2-4) on Friday afternoon, 7-0. Just one match was in question at No. 1 singles but Sophie Rufyikiri was able to take care of business (6-4, 7-6).
ULM controlled doubles from the beginning as Rufyikiri and Ema Turudija dispatched Kesica Jayapalan and Harshini Reddy, 8-1. Petra Horakova and Silvia Tumova walked past Rebekah Adewumi and Laura Rojas, 8-2.
Thus, leaving the match between Medy Blankvoort and Justyna Krol against Karen Martinez and Angela Condorelli unfinished. ULM was up 7-2 in that contest.
Rufyikiri was able to edge Martinez in No. 1 singles (6-4, 7-6) to improve to 2-1 on the season. Blankvoort went to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Reddy.
Both Tumova (3-0) and Turudija (2-1) blanked their opponents (6-0, 6-0) in No. 3 and 4 singles. Krol (3-0) defeated Jayapalan (6-, 6-2) in No. 5 singles.
Horakova (3-0) ended her match early against Condorelli (3-1, ret.) at No. 6 singles.
ULM will stay at home and host Alcorn State on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.
