MONROE, La. – The ULM softball team scored a run in the bottom of the 11th inning for a walk-off 1-0 victory over Memphis Wednesday at the ULM Softball Complex.

Senior Haley McCall provided a one-out single up the middle that advanced freshman Kayla Prater to third base. Prater, who singled earlier in the inning, came in to score the winning run on a throwing error by the Memphis center fielder.

The two teams combined for just nine hits in the game as both starting pitchers were impressive. Junior Stephanie Routzon pitched all 11 innings for the Warhawks, scattering five hits and striking out two for her 10th win of the season.

Memphis starting Ellen Roberts gave up just the one run on four hits and struck out nine in 10 1/3 innings pitched.

The Warhawks (17-20) escaped their only real jam in the top of the seventh inning after Memphis (18-27) placed runners on second and third with one out. Routzon struck out Roberts for the second out and forced a popup from Hannah Harrell to end the threat.

McCall, Prater, freshman Courtney Dutreix and senior Elena DiMattia each had one hit to lead the Warhawks offensively.

ULM continues conference play this weekend with a trip to Western Kentucky. The Warhawks and Lady Toppers will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday and wrap up the series Sunday with a single game beginning at noon.
