MONROE, La. -- Ashleigh Simmons notched her third straight double-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and Sharnice Brooks added 11 points, but it was not enough as ULM fell to Georgia State, 77-66.
Following the game, the ULM Department of Athletics held a special ceremony as it retired former great and current Associate Head Coach E.J. (Lee) Ok's jersey.
Georgia State (9-10, 5-2) pushed its lead to 18 early in the second half as Alisha Andrews connected on a layup in the paint. The 18-point advantage was their largest of the game.
The Warhawks (7-12, 3-4) could not overcome the Panthers hot shooting as the home team could only get within nine down the stretch.
Elexar Tugler nearly reached double figures, falling just short with nine points.
Kendra Long led the Panthers with 21 points, while Brittany Logan recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Georgia State led the majority of the first half and the visiting Panthers moved ahead by as many as 17 in the opening 20 minutes.
ULM's lone lead of the half was at 3-2 as Jasmine Shaw connected on a three-pointer from the corner with 19:14 to play. After the Panthers moved ahead, the Warhawks were able to keep it close until Georgia State used a 15-5 run midway through the half to take a 31-18 lead with 7:26 showing on the clock.
The Warhawks were able to get the deficit to under 10 once in the final minutes of the half, but the Panthers responded and carried a 16 point lead (45-29) into the locker room at the break.
ULM will wrap-up its three-game homestand when it hosts Arkansas State Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
