Football

Team Notes

·         ULM Captains: WR Rashon Ceaser (Offense), DL Joey Gautney (Defense) and S Marquis McCullum (Special Teams).

·         Kentucky Captains: WR Javess Blue, DE Alvin Dupree, DE Za'Darius Smith and OT Johnathon Swindle.

·         Kentucky won the opening coin toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff.

·         Saturday's game was the fifth meeting all-time between the Warhawks and the Wildcats.

·         ULM extended its streak to 32 straight games with a forced turnover (leads FBS) (Hunter Kissinger Interception, 1st quarter).

·         Attendance: 56,676

Offense Notes

·         Pete Thomas threw a pair of first quarter TDs as he connected with Ajalen Holley (12 yards) with 7:42 to play in first quarter and Kenzee Jackson (nine yards) on final play of opening quarter.

·         Kaylon Watson recorded his first collegiate carry on Saturday – a seven yard rush… Watson finished the game with eight carries for 32 yards.

·         Kenzee Jackson led the squad in receptions (six) and receiving yards (73)… Rashon Ceaser finished with six grabs, while Ajalen Holley had four catches for 68 yards.

·         Nathan Meadors, Jr. recorded his first carries of the season… The sophomore finished with six rushes for 25 yards.

 

Defense Notes

·         Hunter Kissinger recorded his second interception of the year late in the first quarter and extended ULM's turnover streak to 32 straight games… Kissinger returned the interception 22 yards to the UK nine yard line and set up ULM's second TD of the day.

·         Cordero Smith, Gerrand Johnson and Mitch Lane all finished with a team-high six tackles on Saturday.

·         Cordero Smith also led the Warhawks with one sack.

·         In all, the Warhawk defense finished with nine tackles for loss… Lorenzo Jackson led the way with three tackles for loss.

Special Teams Notes

·         Tyler Cain set new career-highs in both kickoff return yards (132) and all-purpose yards (169)… Cain finished the game with 23 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards.

·         Justin Manton connected on a pair of PATs and became the third kicker in ULM history to tally 200 or more points in a career… Manton entered the game tied for third in program history with Stepfret Williams (WR, 1992-95) at 198 points… Teddy Garcia (1984-87) holds the record with 246 points, followed by Rob Tallent (1989-92) at 232 points.

Justin Manton punted eight times on Saturday and had one punt land inside the 20… Manton also kicked off three times against the Wildcats.
