Team Notes
· ULM Captains: WR Ajalen Holley (Offense), LB Michael Johnson (Defense) and SP Justin Manton (Special Teams).
· Arkansas State Captains: OL Dexter Blackmon, DB Artez Brown, TE Darion Griswold, WR J.D. McKissic and DB Andrew Tryon.
· ULM won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half.
· ULM held Arkansas State off the scoreboard in the first quarter thanks to a missed 23 yard field goal with 19 seconds to play in the opening quarter… It marked the first time since Aug. 31, 2013 (at No. 16 Oklahoma) that neither ULM nor its opponent scored in the first quarter… ULM held Arkansas State of the scoreboard for the first 30 minutes and it marked the first time since Dec. 3, 2011 (at Florida Atlantic) that ULM held and opponent scoreless in the first half.
· Saturday's game marked the first time in ULM's Sun Belt era (2001-pres.) that the Warhawks have been involved in a game that was scoreless at the half.
· ULM is now 3-6 all-time in games that take place on Oct. 4.
· Attendance: 29,317
Offense Notes
· Ajalen Holley recorded his third TD reception of 58 or more yards of the season with a 59-yard TD reception with 12:21 to play in the fourth quarter.
· Kenzee Jackson hauled in his first TD reception of the season with a 41-yard TD pass from Brayle Brown with 1:30 left in the contest.
· Rashon Ceaser led the Warhawks in receptions (10) and tied for a team-high 82 yards.
Defense Notes
· Mitch Lane's interception with six minutes to play in the first quarter extended ULM's forced turnover streak to 31 games (nation's longest active streak)… The interception is the third of the season (and sixth career) for Lane.
· ULM forced its second turnover of the contest with 14:40 to play in the second quarter… Joey Gautney stripped Arkansas State QB Fredi Knighten and the fumble was recovered by Cordero Smith… The forced fumble was Gautney's second of the season… The recovery by Smith was his first of the season.
· Justin Backus recorded his first interception of the season in the fourth quarter… Backus' pick led to a ULM scoring drive (TD).
· Gerrand Johnson led the Warhawk defense with 11 total tackles, including two for a loss and one sack.
Special Teams Notes
· Justin Manton finished the game with 10 punts (43.6 avg) and a long of 59… Manton also had two kickoffs, both touchbacks… He also was 2-for-2 on PATs in the contest.
· Tyler Cain returned three kickoffs for 62 total yards with a long of 25.
