Troy Tops Short-Handed ULM Squad 2-0

TROY, Ala. – Troy broke a 0-0 halftime score with a pair of second half tallies to take a 2-0 result over an injured ULM soccer program onSunday at the Troy Soccer Complex.

ULM (7-6-1, 1-3 SBC) saw its captain and center-back, redshirt-sophomore Antonia Land, go down just 12 minutes into the first half. The Warhawks were also without leading scorer sophomore Jenna Pillon and sophomore center-back Cameron Stoker.

Additionally, seven ULM student-athletes didn't make the trip including freshman goalkeeper Samantha Moreno and freshman defender Peyton Holloway.

The Trojans (10-3, 2-1 SBC) garnered a pair of goals from Abby Reynolds. The first came off a corner kick in the 70th minute and the second after a throw-in in the 73rd minute.

The Warhawks tallied six shots in the contest and half of them were on net. Junior Karlea Fehr fired three, sophomore Mary Ashton Lembo shot two and junior Mariah Mitchell one.

Lembo was one of five ULM field players who played 90 minutes in addition to sophomores Whitney Tuckfield, Allie Dickson, Nancy Kirk and junior Kelley O'Dwyer.

In net, Katherine Werther (6-3) made seven saves. Troy's Mikki Lewis (10-3) picked up the win after making three saves.

ULM's best chances came on set pieces as it held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

Up next, the Warhawks will return to the ULM Soccer Complex where they will host Arkansas State at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and UALR at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
