Team Notes

·         ULM Captains: WR Ajalen Holley (Offense) and LB Braxton Moore (Special Teams).

·         New Mexico State Captains: WR Brandon Bettencourt, LB Rodney Butler and OL Valerian Ume-Ezeoke.

·         Saturday's win for ULM was the first-ever over NMSU (lost previous three meetings).

·         NMSU won the opening coin toss and deferred to the second half.

·         Attendance: 6,011

Offense Notes

·         Centarius Donald's one-yard TD rush in the first quarter was his sixth rushing score of the season.

·         Pete Thomas 350 pass yards were the most allowed to an opposing quarterback by NMSU (previous high: 294 yards by Georgia State, Sept. 6).

·         Kenzee Jackson led the Warhawks with career-highs in both receptions (13) and receiving yards (108).

Defense Notes

·         Justin Backus recovered his first career fumble with 8:08 to play in the third quarter… Backus' fumble recovery came on 2nd and goal at the ULM one yard line.

·         Alex Johnson blocked an Alex Louthan punt in the third quarter and it was recovered and returned one yard for a TD by Mitch Lane… The TD gave the Warhawks a 27-17 lead with 1:46 to play in the third quarter.

·         Alex Johnson's blocked punt was the first blocked punt by the Warhawks since the 2012 season (vs. South Alabama, Oct. 27).

·         Trey Caldwell intercepted NMSU QB Tyler Rogers in the fourth quarter to give ULM defense two turnovers.

Special Teams Notes

·         Justin Manton's streak of 11 straight made field goals ended with his miss (44 yards) in the opening quarter of Saturday's game.

·         Rashon Ceaser returned a first quarter punt 51 yards to set up a ULM TD… It was the longest punt return of the season for Ceaser… It is also the longest punt return allowed this season by New Mexico State.

·         In the first half, Justin Manton tallied eight total points in the first half (28 yd FG, 22 yd FG, 2 PATs) as he became the program's all-time scoring leader… His 22-yarder as time expired pushed him into the lead, passing Teddy Garcia (246 PATs, 1984-87)… Manton added four points in the second half as he finished with 12 total points in Saturday's game.
