ULM Goes 1-3 at Texas Classic

Back on Feb. 28, the Warhawks took the opening game of the Texas Classic in comeback fashion, defeating Texas Southern 11-10.  Sadly, ULM fell on the short end of a 6-2 decision to Texas before suffering a heartbreaking 9-8 loss to Southern Miss on Mar. 1.  The Warhawks ended the tournament by falling to the Longhorns 9-1.

Weather Cancels; Moves ULM Contests

Heavy rains washed out the Mar. 2 contest against Southern Miss while cold weather and rain forced ULM's match-up with LSU to be moved to Apr. 1.

Fast Starters

At 13-7, ULM is off to its best start since 2001, when it was 14-6 through the first 20 games.

Round Trippers

The Warhawks are averaging exactly one home run per contest this season.  This is thanks, in part, to three ULM players sharing a team-high four homers (Hollie Letourneau, Alexis Cacioppo, Vanessa Garcia)

Movin' On Up

Two ULM juniors have moved up in the ULM career rankings already this season. Miyuki Navarrete's 24 stolen bases put her in sole possession of fifth while Alexis Cacioppo's four homers have moved her into eighth.

Scouting the Warhawks

Alexis Cacioppo leads the team with a blistering .415 avg., Faith Bohack has powered the offense with 19 RBI.  Bohack also has a team-best 41 total bases in 23 hits.  Miyuki Navarrete continues to steal bases.  She is 24-of-25 entering the week.

The Holloway-Hill File

Head coach Rosemary Holloway-Hill enters her 30th season at the helm of the Warhawks.  She is joined on staff by first year assistants Ashlyn Williams and Garrett Furnal.  Williams serves as pitching coach while Furnal assists with hitting and the infield.

Scouting Ole Miss

Over the weekend, the Rebels stole their SEC opener with a 2-0 win over No. 1 Florida. The Gators, however, took the final two games of the series.  The Ole Miss offense is powered by RT Cantillo, who has 38 hits in 23 games and is hitting .507 on the year. Allison Brown and Londen Ladner share a team-best 16 RBI and three homers. Three of the Rebel starters have sub-2.00 ERA's, with Carly Hummel's 1.70 mark leading the way.  Hummel and teammate Shelby Jo Fenter are 5-3 on the year.  Hummel has a team-high 58 K's while Fenter comes in with 53.
