MONROE, La. -- ULM split a midweek twinbill with visiting Ole Miss Wednesday at the ULM Softball Complex. The Warhawks claimed game one, 6-3, before falling in game two, 11-1.
Vanessa Garcia saw her streak of 21 straight games reaching base safely come to an end in the second game of the twinbill as she finished 0-for-2.
GAME ONE -- ULM 6, Ole Miss 3
Ole Miss broke the scoreless game with a trio of runs in the top half of the third inning. With two runners on and one out, Allison Brown drove in one with a RBI double to the gap in right center and put two Rebels in scoring position. In the fifth, the Warhawks took their first lead of the game and it wound up being a lead they would not relinquish. With Vanessa Garcia standing on first, Mackenzie Miller homered off the wall in left center to give ULM a 4-3 advantage.
