MONROE, La. -- The ULM softball program has announced that the game against LSU on
Tuesday, April 1, will be "Steele Strong Night," honoring former ULM pitcher and pitching coach
Lindsay Rittenhouse-Becton's son, Steele.
Steele, who is just over a year old, suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), which is a genetic disorder that affects all of the muscles in the body, with the legs being the most common, according to the
Families of SMA website.
Rittenhouse-Becton is slated to toss out the ceremonial first pitch. "Steele Strong" T-shirts will be sold at the game, with proceeds going to help the Becton family.
There will also be raffle tickets available for a home cabinet makeover valued at $10,000.
Game tickets are available now at the ULM box office for $5. You may also call (318) 342-5417 or visit

First pitch is at 6 p.m.
