MONROE, La. -- ULM led 2-0 after two innings, but the Hilltoppers scored 11 unanswered runs to claim an 11-2 victory Saturday night at Warhawk Field.
The Warhawks plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the second to take an early lead in Saturday's game. With two outs, Jeff Fuller singled through the right side and picked up two RBI as Ross Moore and Jacob Stockton scored.
WKU responded with five runs in the third inning and the frame was highlighted by a three-run homer by Cody Wofford. The Hilltoppers were able to push their lead to 8-2 as they scored two runs in the sixth and one run in the seventh.
The Hilltoppers added three runs in the top of the ninth to set the final tally at 11-2.
Chris Hunt (2-4) was tagged with the loss and after allowing five runs on six hits in three innings of work.
Josh Bartley improved to 5-3 after allowing two unearned runs on six hits in eight innings.
The Warhawks and Hilltoppers will conclude the series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch slated for 1 p.m.
