MONROE, La. -- ULM head coach Corey Lyon who enters his first season with the Warhawks, announced the 2014 fall scrimmage and 2015 regular season schedules on Monday.
The Warhawks open the season with an eight game fall scrimmage schedule, including four games in Monroe. The fall season opener on Oct. 4 has the Warhawks taking on Northeast Texas Community College at the ULM Softball Complex.
ULM travels to Baton Rouge on Oct. 12 for a three game outing at the LSU Fall Classic, where it will play the Tigers, Baton Rouge Community College and LSU-Eunice Community College.
The Warhawks return home to face LSU-Alexandria on Oct. 17 and will have three exhibition matchups versus Louisiana Tech. The Warhawks travel to Ruston, La. on Oct. 18 and host the Bulldogs at home in a doubleheader on Oct. 24.
The 2015 regular season features tournaments at UNLV and Central Arkansas as well as the Warhawks hosting conferences games against South Alabama and UL-Lafayette, both finishing in the top 25 in the final NCAA rankings last season.
ULM will face a third top-25 finisher taking on LSU. South Alabama and UL-Lafayette finished with over 40 wins last season with ULL making the Women's College World Series. LSU is one of five teams with 30-plus wins (Georgie State, Georgia Southern, Northwestern State and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville) on the schedule.
The 2015 season opens on Feb. 5 with the Lady Techster Invitational, a six-team tournament at Louisiana Tech which features Missouri State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Abilene Christian and SIU-Edwardsville.
The Warhawks opens their home schedule with the annual Mardi Gras Classic on Feb. 14-15. Southeast Missouri State returns for a third trip to the tournament. This season's edition also features Alabama State, Mississippi Valley State and Southern University.
The following weekend has ULM in a midweek matchup versus Northwestern State and then traveling to the University of Central Arkansas for a weekend tournament that features Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Delaware and Western Illinois.
ULM will return home on Feb. 24 to take on Southeastern Louisiana before traveling to Las Vegas from Feb. 26-28 for its final in-season tournament at UNLV. Times and opponents will be announced.
On March 4, Louisiana Tech makes a trip to Monroe before the Warhawks travel to Appalachian State to open conference play with a three-game set.
ULM returns to the ULM Softball Complex for a two week stretch that features a doubleheader on March 11 versus Incarnate Word, back-to-back weekend series against conference opponents South Alabama on March 14-15 and Texas State on March 21-22.
The Warhawks end their home stand with a game against Central Arkansas on March 25.
ULM will hit the road facing Georgia Southern on March 28-29 before heading to Baton Rouge to face an SEC opponent in LSU on March 31. The Warhawks travel to Troy on April 3-4 and Louisiana Tech on April 8 before returning home for a series against UT-Arlington.
The Warhawks battle Stephen F. Austin in a doubleheader on April 15 and will make a brief pit stop in Monroe to face Northwestern State on April 22. The Warhawks hit the road for a final time in regular season play for a series with Georgia State on April 25-26.
ULM will end regular season play with a series with UL-Lafayette when the Ragin' Cajuns come to Monroe on May 2-3.
Texas State will host the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Tournament from May 6-9.
